Washington, DC —  The 2006 Monitoring the Future Survey, released
today, noted there was a significant decrease in lifetime and past year
alcohol consumption among 12th graders from 2005.

Additionally, a special analysis for ONDCP revealed a significant

Recognizing the importance of this issue and that more needs to be
done, The Century Council, a national not-for-profit organization
funded by America's leading distillers, works continuously with private
and public organizations across the country to provide resources to
fight underage drinking. We believe programs such as Brandon Tells His
Story; Ask, Listen, Learn; Girl Talk: Choices and Consequences of
Underage Drinking, our latest "We Don't Serve Teens" campaign, and
others have contributed to the decline in underage drinking.

The Council's programs can be ordered free-of-charge.

Launched in 1991, The Century
Council is funded by America's leading distillers. The Council's
mission is to promote responsible decision-making regarding beverage
alcohol and discourage all forms of irresponsible consumption through
education, communications, research, law enforcement and other
programs. For more information on the Council, log onto
